Troll Wall and Rescue!
I want to let you know where you will not have any heli rescue in Romsdalen. Many places where it is loose rocks, it will take long time for an rescue operation compare to Kjerag.

NEW for this season is the police have decided no fly zone in one part of the Troll Wall, and there will be NO heli rescue at all!Bear this in mind if you decide to jump Troll Wall, it is not only Illigal to jump anymore, but also no HELI RESCUE. And the police will also decide if any rescue personell can operate in there at all! This is not only base related, but for all activity in Troll Wall!

When you come here, try to hook up with locals, check with them about different wind conditions, and how it will affect your jumps. Every place is different, and so far we have no database about the different locations, and how to aproach each exit! This is still a remote place, even we do have infrastructure close to the exits!

Always prepere for spending the night on the hike, or if you have an outlanding! Rescue take time, and if no emergency we will be in the que until they have capasity! 1000 m here is not same other places, you can freeze your nuts/tits off in short time!

Treath the mountains with respect!
You do not get groundrush in big walls!

Can someone post this on the French base forum to?

It has been in the "Site Guidelines" sticky since shortly after it was originally posted. Check that thread--it's currently the final post.

If we could get sorted all the information for each place in to one "folder" and not in to one post, it would be better, and people can easy look it up. Maybe you can get one local for each place to maintaine it, and update whenever it is some valid information.

There is a collection of such articles here. Anyone can upload a new article, or modify any of the existing articles (uploads and modifications have to be approved by an editor before they take effect).

Articles can be submitted here.

Edit: Or are you suggesting a separate "Site Information" forum that only has 10 or so threads, each relating to a single site? I'd have to think about that one.

exactly what I was thinking. Seperate site forum would be a good idea! The head of the post would be managed by a local, and jumpers could add their personal experiences for the site as it goes!

The article have been posted, and there is some basic guidelines, and information! local weather link for Ã…ndalsnes in Romsdalen, local tourist information with cabins etc. If there is any questions dont hesitate to mail me, and I will try to answer as good as I can, or foreward your mail to someone else. I do not answer questions about Troll Wall, except if there is any unclear about the Illigal zone, or no fly zone! Any coments to the article from experienced Romsdalen jumpers is welcome, and so is from jumpers who do not know the area, and think there is something they dont understand or missing!
