Why you should rate photos.
Hey all, Take time and rate some of the photos that users have uploaded to the Photos section.
The photos that appear on the home page is supposed to be driven by your votes. There's an algorithm that will select a pool of images every night based on a certain criteria that we set (example: select the top 25 photos uploaded in the last 2 months, with more than 3 votes) These photos are shown on the home page.
At this stage - seeing as we don't have enough votes yet - we're manually flagging some good images. It would be more fun to see which photos you like though. Go rate!
PS - to rate, hover your mouse over the 5 large stars under a photo and click on the number of stars you want to give an image. 1 is low, 5 is high.
