any chance of getting a bulk picture upload?

why?
1) less individual freedom?
2) someone must spend time validating each image?
3) the general abuse of the previous system?

every BASE jumper needs to think along these lines. most often, we play on PRIVATE property. the owner tolerates us (or might be unaware). owners can always change the rules on us. the owners typically focus on their headaches, not our freedoms.

the more we exceed our welcome, the more "freedoms" (access) we will lose.

i guess I don't see how avatars can be abused to the point of headache?

I understand photo albums being approved, but avatars traditional don't matter that much?

my attempt to load my previous avatar got shot down. it was a nice, small jpeg. turns out it was TOO small.

I'm annoyed that people abused the avatar process. their actions resulted in the changes. (I have no clue regarding the perceived abuse.)

Do we get to find out if our pictures were rejected? I see several photos got approved, and the one I uploaded as a test hasn't shown up in "my pictures"

so, do I assume the worst... or do I continue to wait?

That's because you uploaded an image of an actual object. I'd like to have a conversation with Tom about the policy he'd like to pursue on posting identifiable pics of objects before I approve your photo. Just have a little patience...

No bulk uploads for now.

I've seen problems on other forums where the avatar images were pornographic or blatantly insulting to other users.

does it involve copyright infringement, or image size? i saw the post about objects but the're so freaking small who could identify them anyway...

the difficulty i've had trying to upload one explains why there are so few...

Validation basically means that I look at them and approve them as relevant to this site (meaning, generally, BASE related, although there are some exceptions, primarily avatar photos and such). There are size restrictions as well, but they are fairly generous.

What kind of problems are you having with uploading?

size. tried to upload a jpg 72 dpi that was under the maximum pixels and got an error message that it was too large. also not understanding the validation process kind of threw me. thanks for the info.

haha, and watch out, i tried to upload a avatar, i did it wrong, and i got an email saying it was no appoved. it seemed like a automaticaly-generated email, so i sent an insult back to what i thought was a computer.

yeah, it wasn't. i got banned.
