do you think they might just be releasing it under a different name and throwing in a "tony hawk"-style persona to give it some mainstream appeal?

Why the hell would I want to play a BASE jumping game and be Felix??

I think I would rather play a game that had ME as the jumper or a non-descript humanoid figure or better yet how about making the jumpers animals or cartoon figures.... anything but Felix

I doubt very much that people who are actually out making real, physical world BASE jumps are the target market for any BASE jumping video game.

On a different note... does this game allow for rigging errors? Do you start off with a dolphin container and have to get the skillz before you can trade up? Can you take objects with you in freefall? Can you do big ways? Rollovers? etc.?

Just wondering how realistic it is.

I'm guessing you can probably be whoever you want, they probably just slapped his name on there because they needed to have a face on the cover like all the other extreme sports video games, and they watched a tv show that hailed felix as the "god of the skies"..

It's the same game we have been talking about before, D3 is just making it for Atari.

as a gamer i would have to say that this game has killer graphics. obviously, i'm not sure about game play, but i'll let you know.
i mean seriously, what else would be better on a bad weather day (besides sex)? That's right! virtual BASE jumping. why not, at least you can go in then get back up and try it again. lol. that doesn't happen much. hell, maybe if it is accurate, it could be a learning tool. i know that's a stretch, but if it works for pilots. . .

What makes base so much fun in GTA is that you can explore etc.

i'm not sure what language that is, but i guess this is not being released in the US yet. i visited atari's US site and it had no info on the game

yes I agree totally with that! in GTA you have to FIND your exit points and look for new sites. GTA is therefore definitely more fun, because one has more freedom to act, although the physics and the design of the canopy are trash

here's a trick from GTA san andreas
get in a jumbo jet and max your altitude, then fly over the city that resembles san fran. there is a building with a hole in it. jump from the jumbo into the hole and deploy before death, and DO NOT hit the sides. you can track to the hole, but the sides are deadly. if you have not located the jumbo then try the private jet, it seems like the same altitude. also, same deal, but try and track through the wires of golden gate bridge from one side of the bridge to the other, only made it once, but forgot to pull before water oops.

I've done exactly what you referred to, many times. Another cool thing to do is to jump from the top (where the steel cables are fastened) of the golden gate bridge over the road and then track through the wires to avoit hitting the bridge. close to that bridge, there is a Cliff, which can be jumped on both sides and it's even possible to do some proximity flying. (the jetpack is a great tool to get to these exit points.) there are numerous of jumpable buildings, many earth sites, a few bridges and even some antennas which can be jumped in GTA. some of them are really cool, because one can outtrack ledges or other buildings. wonder how the new gta will turn out in terms of parachuting...

Might I add:

Use Jetpack to get on top of the antenna-like steel object that stands in a power plant next to a steep grass wall (a cliff...only it's not 90° and grassy) that runs into the water. Jump, track down hill and don't deploy. if you make it to the water you're good.

Anyone else having problems with the Demo? I've installed on two separate machines, but both come up with a runtime error everytime I click start.

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't install the Ageia Physx.
