He did. His anchor series is a must have for any climber, albeit not without controversy.

Perhaps because he also wrote an great story about Carl Boenish' last jump.

The book is called Gorilla Monsoon by John Long and the story in the book is called Down and Out. One of the wickedest old school BASE stories ever told. The story can also be found in a John Long collection book called Long on Adventure.

You're right, it's a great story. As are all the other stories in that book. It's a must read for any adventurer.
