Dave Goldsmith afk / Most famous BASE Jumper in the world
Headed to bootcamp today. See you guys in 11-20 some odd weeks. I'm kind of curious to see what sorts of replies this gets, but I guess I'll have to wait those weeks to see.

Basic is something I will never forget. Remember... The drill instuctors are people too. Don't be afraid of them, just respect them and you'll do fine. Hope you like running.

Gawd, I remember trying not to laugh while having a grown woman screaming and spitting like a banshee 1 inch from my face. "Bend and Thrusts" for DAYS.
Good luck!!

Don't listen to these people. Crapping in front of 170 guys on sh*tters with no stalls for 2 months.........Allright, it gets better after Basic. I met the funniest and meanest people I ever knew, until I started BASE, in the service. Good luck in Texas dood!

"Steal don't fly without supply."
That was a TOTAL Freudian Slip. (aka coverup for a typo Steal vs. Steel.)
Hmmm...could be a covert procurement. 4 years of being the female version of Cpl. Walter O'Reilly.

Boot camp's a breeze mate. Confidence in yourself is key. The reality is if you are in good enough shape to BASE and can read, write, drill and shoot you'll probably have fun. Once you get to the fleet...well that is something you'll have to deal with again. Best of luck and enjoy the memories. Matt 3RD BN 11th Marines 1st Mar Div 91-96
