When i met him he threw some crisps down and brought the pints to the table declaring he'd bought us dinner.

I heard some funny stories that night, my deepest sympothy to his family and those who knew him most.

We lost Sean yesterday, BASE 621.

Absolutely gutted. I stopped jumping a few years ago and moved abroad so I hadn't spoken to Sean enough recently but for a couple of years I spent more time with him than anyone. He had a big influence on me and we had some good times. He was definately unique.

I'm feeling for Vicki right now in particular, I know she'll get a load of support through this. Also thinking about all the lads back home, I know you guys are having a tough time.

Be careful guys, I'm sick of losing mates.

What does that have to do with anything??

He was an experienced jumper, one can only assume that his gear choice was suitable for the jumps he did.

What could you possibly hope to learn from knowing his gear and configuration anyway?


It seems from the list, fairly clear, that BASEjumping is dangerous and no amount of experience or specific set of gear will keep you magically safe from harm.


I never met Sean, but he was one of the few posters on here that I found their posts worthwhile.

I've seen some of his videos. I have heard of his reputation.

I would like to offer my condolonces to all his friends and family who might see this post.

My thoughts are with the UK BASErs now, this was a huge loss for them.

Let's leave the stupid questions for later, eh?

FYI (this info is second hand, but from a reliable source): BASE specific gear; 180 opening.

If you didn't know who Sean was, I understand why you ask the question... However, I agree with 980 that there is really nothing to learn from this; shit happens in this sport, and it can kill you. This incident underlines that point.

Sean´s reply to that would be:

"If you dont like it..... Fuck off!!!"

Don't make this about you. These folks, some of which are friends of mine, just lost one of their own best friends. If there was something that needed addressing, regardless of the circumstances, the necessary info would be relayed to the masses.

Sometimes shit just doesn't work out right. If you look at Sean621's profile you'll see he jumps a Gargoyle and Mojo. Does that help you?

That's a little harsher than I think is appropriate at this point in time. Remember, people lost somebody they deeply cared about. Let us all take a few days or weeks to reflect on what happened, cry until there are no tears left, and look to each other for support.

Although I believe in the black death factor this sport carries, I think it only applies a priori. Hindsight often does present food for thought, and I do hope that we can try to learn something from this in the future.

To the UK crew; I'm sorry guys. This fucking sucks.

Cheers for the thourghts,the UK crew has lost a icon..many has lost a dear freind... we all lost a great person who did a difference in our sport.

I cannot speak highly enough of Sean who I met in the UK. He offered me friendship and went out of his way to help. We spoke every other day as Sean and George were planning to come here in October to jump the bigger cliffs.

Sean - I cannot believe you are no longer amongst us. You are free now; safe journey.
