Johnny left us on a last skydive, it's hard to believe but it is true.
It seems like he had a major heart attack while skydiving.
The cypres fired, but he was already dead.
More will be tell about it.
He died tracking away on the sunset, way to go! That's the way he would have wanted to go...
I already miss him, it was a pleasure to have him in my life...and he will always be in my heart!

Was the cause natural/accidental/skydive or BASE related ?
If BASE, that is so F'd-up I am really getting sick of this shit. The guy was always good to me.

spoke with johnny's son today ... send your thoughts and prayers their way.
appears that after several points at sunset johnny moved away from the group and opened under cypress fire ... appears that it may have been a heartattack or stroke.

Johnny was an amazing guy. Reading this post really broke our hearts. Even my mother-in-law and three non-jumping brothers knew Johnny (he was THAT cool!).

Skydiving and BASE jumping won't be the same without him. We'll miss ya, Johnny.

Yes - Johnny will be missed. If there's a better way for a fellow skydiver and base jumper to leave this world, I can't think of one.

Donk and I will have to lick a beard in his honor next year at Bridge Day. I'll never forgot the look on Johnny's face when we did that a couple of years ago....

I met Johnny at the Perine. I hadn't heard of the muff numbers then and can you imagine what my first thought was... (clue: muffdiver)

He seemed like a really likeable guy and explained the numbers to me. Life can be a bitch, it's a good thing we have good people like him to hang out with while we're here.

I will miss Johny forever. He was a great person with the most positive vibe ever. I always looked up to him for being a really cool old guy. I hope that I can be like that sometime... Old but very young at heart.
