In reply to:
Authorities investigating the accident say it is unclear whether the 29-year-old's parachute had malfunctioned or whether wind had forced him into a rock wall.
I know it is not about this but still... Why don't they even try to do a bit of research... Idiots

Re: [Mikki_ZH] Another Tear . . . If You Got Any Left . . .
Hi Mikki ZH,

I'm the "idiot" journalist who wrote this article. I'm also best friends with Adam's wife Tracy. Just to clear up a few things... the family wanted this article written and checked it before it went to print. It was written very soon after the incident and at the time the official line of the authorities was that it was "unclear" as to what had caused the problem... and there were suggestions about wind gusts or parachute problems.

I know a lot of you guys have been burnt by the media and aren't too excited about journos. But in our defence, we're just doing our jobs and reporting the news. That said, I would never have written a story about this if the family hadn't asked me to.

Play safe you guys. Accidents like these are pretty devastating for those left behind.

Cheers,

J

Hello Jack,

I did not call you an Idiot; I just called journalists that don't research idiots.
Actually I liked the article you wrote.
The only thing I did not liked was the part I mentioned in my post because it made me assume that you just took some information and made up your own story. Obviously I was wrong.
I know that not all journalists are “bad”. But 85% of all articles I read about BASE Jumping are trying to show the sport in a bad way and let us look like small brained adrenaline junkies with a death wish.
That is why I jumped a bit to fast to conclusions.
Sorry about that.
Cheers,
Michi
