so I got through to the Holiday Inn at 1:04 ET and was told they were sold out This has to be a record. A couple of years ago I called at 7:30 in the morning and still got a room. Oh, well on the waiting list and did get the Quality Inn.

One hour sounds pretty normal, at least in the last few years. The waiting list is a good thing to be on, as several rooms always open up in the next few weeks. The Holiday Inn must contractually hold 15+ rooms for a military commitment, but they're usually released to the waiting list shortly before Bridge Day.

Don't forget, you can also camp at the Holiday Inn and still have hot showers each day.
