This is a long shot but I'm arriving in Stavanger on the afternoon of August 1. The folks I was sharing accomodations with are no longer going, and I'd really like to be able to split costs. I have to stay the night before catching the ferry to Lysebotn on the 2nd.
Bringing a massive tent, food and such. If anyone is arriving at this time, or knows where I can stay in Stavanger for less than $100/night, please PM. Thanks.!

Hi.. If you are gonne stay in stavanger, you can book a room on www.havly-hotell.no they have base-discount, so its cheaper. And in lysebotn they have bunk-beds for 180-200 nkr (15 pound) also a base discount[;)]........

If I remember correctly a tent is 150 NOK + 20NOK pr person pr night on the campground, so if you are staying alone the white house is only $2 more a night..

It is 100 nok per tent plus 20 nok per person. It is 180 nok for the white house.

Just got back from the special K. A fortnight of stunning weather and 22 jumps to show for it! And, contrary to popular advice, there are little bitey things in Norway!

Your best bet is the WhiteHouse. 180 NOK a night and use of the facilities there (decent kitchen and lounge), and it's rammed with basejumpers so the atmosphere is good. Leave the big tent and bring more beer instead. Showers are 10(?) NOK for 6 mins and (crap) sheets are 80 NOK for the duration...so bring a sleeping bag.

There's a Spar supermarket open 7 days a week by the ferry in SVG (stock up...).

The Havly hotel has been full lately (I blame the Stavanger food festival...), but check expedia for hotels in SVG - £65 seems par for the course.

edited to add: don't know what time you get in, but if you have time to make the 600 NOK taxi journey from the airport to Lauvik, there's a fast ferry there at wither 2 or 2.30 if i remember rightly.
