I know that you're shy :-) but although that I'm far
from baseing myself I'd like to get to know someone who's actually jumping BASE in Germany.

Is it really pushing adrenaline as everybody tells?

Because everybody is expecting a lot of adrenaline
from normal skydiving / but to be honest / I wouldn't
have completed my AFF if I hadn't already paid
it in advance.

If you prepare enough / there aren't any risky situations hence no adrenaline.

Or maybe I just had enough near-death situations
that there can't be anything enhanced?

I only completed the AFF course and had another 13 jumps.
I don't even have an USPA A license *Charly didn't allow it* nor a German license - but plan to do it after the upcoming exams - possibly during holidays in Slovakia or sth.

you are totally right.

if you are so cool and had so many near-death-experiences, then you are definitely already one step ahead of "BASE". you are already in level 2 of this game!

base-jumping (around munich or anywhere else) is quite similar to your aff and those other 13 jumps . BORING is the word that comes to mind. nothing to do with adrenaline. no risky situations. people just do it because they cannot sleep at night. that's all. just try something else.

I didn't call you a sissy, did I.
It's a shame - and I really wanted it to - but skydiving
just didn't exite me like all the others.

Maybe it's because I don't worship life enough,
but what's there to do about?

I don't think there's anything cool about having had close calls.

Btw, I did those jumps within a few days - and didn't skydive eversince because I couldn't complete my USPA A license abroad - and therefore I'm not allowed to jump at any
base without paying an instructor (again) or returning to where I did my AFF.
Also there isn't any sense in wasting your money on sth that doesn't reward you with what you expect (unless it gives you even more) - is there?

then BASE seems to be nothing for you...
skydiving is boring for you because you know nothing about skydiving....

when you want to do BASE, you need a lot of know how and canopieskills...were you wanna gain it?
at your playstation or reading books?

Did I ever mention in any word that I didn't have fun?

At first I was disappointed because I had too high expextations but the more jumps I made the better it got.

What was also great fun was the half hour I spent in Skyventure's tunnel.
I should have done that before - but where should I know that from?

Nevertheless the last time I rent a fast car and drove it up and down the mountain roads of the "Großglockner" almost every 180° turn sideways
I really had a blast.
I had muscles in my cheek the next day because of smiling the whole time.

How can you top that?

OK, the thing I can suggest is book a fly to Twin Falls and ask for Miles or Shane. Explain to them how important it is for you to feel the adrenalin, give them some money, drink a few cans of Red Bull, put on a rig, step on the rail of the beautiful bridge they have in that town and jump. I promis, it's very easy. Even a bag of dog food can do it.

It would suck a little bit if you would die and having jumpers tell me that it was me who suggested you to do this kind of aproach in BASE Jumping...

Yes. It keeps happening. I have a new friend who does not have the skills to be BASE jumping and so far, has 10 BASE jumps and 50 skydives. He can leave the object fine but watching his videos, he clearly does not know what he's doing after he opens.

What am I supposed to do? Leave him to jump alone? Well, I won't jump with him but I will point him the right direction starting with rigging and canopy skills.

So to answer your question again, yes.. I do believe you would jump without the proper canopy skills.

I'm convinced I could do some basejumps, until I'd run out of luck. Doesn't seem to be worth it - does it?
So I'll just go jump some more... eventually grow out of it - or one day - when I'm convinced it's based on skill / not just luck... I'll take the next step.

You are correct, and I believe you. I'm basing my comments on what's been happening on a fairly regular basis. It wasn't necessarrily directed at you. Many people believe they are skilled long before they are.

Since it just so happens that a new local jumper is in the category, it's easy to make those comments.

go make 300 of thouse borring skydives first if its still borring take up another sport.. if you cant find any joy in skydiving then you wont either in BASE.. that simple..
to me atleast(even as i nearly stopped skydiving as of now,hell i even nearly stopped BASEjumping as of now,damn that house takes too much of my time)
