Best RIG??
I'm going to star to base jump and I want to buy a new base RIG, so I want the best in the market...
I want to know wich is the better container and wich is the better canopy (excellent openings is a must), for jump big walls and little buildings.

Re: [freeflydemon] Best RIG??
It’s pretty much personal preference. I think this.... well another guy doesn't. Every rig sold by Apex, Asylum, and Morpheus is safe and will work. I love double pin rigs and dislike Velcro. Someone else feels the opposite. This topic has been debated so many times!

Do a search for Pin rigs, Velcro, and search the name of each container. You will find postings about what people think of each. Do the same with canopies.

Then you can make your decision. Please don’t start this debate again! TongueLaugh

Re: [freeflydemon] Best RIG??
Bottom line:

Ask 10 BASE jumpers this question and you'll get 10 different answers. You need to try out the various options and decide for yourself. The best way to do this is to buy one of each, but that's rarely practical. Try to borrow, rent or demo as many as possible before making a decision.

My personal preference: Blackjack in a Gargoyle.

Your personal preference: ??? but unlikely to be the exact same as mine.

Hopefully your fjc instructor will help you understand that excellent openings aren't produced by what kind of container you are jumping, and not necessarily the canopy, either. Learn how to pack, and learn ho w to decide what the right equipment for the right jump(s) is.

Just remember that to jump is human but to accessorise is DIVINE DARLING...stay tuned for the new BASE concept from Triax.
It looks like a handbag but actually is a fully functioning BASE container. No need for clumsy ill fitting harness contraptions, unless your in the comfort and privacy of your own home, just stuff everything in the top and stagger off your nearest exit point. If you're sufficiently attired then the relative wind blowing through your fishnets should fascilitate a perfect onheading opening giving you plenty of time to fix your lipstick and reapply some blush.

Triax Chief Test Pilot Chris Pope has this to say.
"Aaah...errr...well if you were to ahh...errr..umm...err.
..well what I'm trying to say is errr...umm...ahhh well
but...but I want...errr...eerrrr..."
"OH FOR CHRIST SAKES CHRIS, FUCKING SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!"

edited to add that the handbag container, which we have called the "Strickland" is still under development and has not been fully tested at this time. When they are ready for the market, they will come stock with your choice of pink, black, or mauve fishnets which are in fact a critical part of the design integral to your safety.

We at Triax apologize for the length of time it is taking to release this product, The handbag deployment system--we get calls literally every day from (ahem) "different" BASE jumpers from around the globe begging for its release (and embedded rhinestone studding). [Interesting sidenote though...suspiciously, all of these callers seem to all have a NorCal area code and a Kiwi accent feigning bad Californian...curious, huh?]

In any case, the Strickland handbag deployment system will not likely make its debut in the Lysebotn Tourist Camp apparently. Look for it in a BASE boutique near you.

PS: to the "mysterious" Kiwi barraging us with phone calls with questions about the item; Yes, it is possible to sew an exterior pouch to the handbag sized for your XXL Maxi Pads! Now give it a rest, quit calling us, and get some work done on your GDP issues!

Re: [RayLosli] Best RIG??
Actually that was a typo. The container isn't called the Strickland, he's way too hard. It's called the "Wanker". However Ray is correct. The "Wanker" is rather small and shrivelled but can be used in conjunction with the "Soft Cock". When used correctly the and at the right speed a certain measure of hardness may be attained. For a demo contact Ray Losli. He will gladly show up and show you exactly how not to launch and exactly how feet can slip off of anything.

Triax will formerly be changing the Name of the new Handbag Deployment System (HDS) to the Maxi Bag Container (MBC) also marketed as the:

Precision Operable Parachute Extraction System-Accessory -Containment Unit New To-Triax Owner Operators.(POPES-A-CUNT-TOO)

It's a bit long winded but then again so are the people behind this venture. It wil come in Pink, Mauve and of course Rainbow.
A must have for any Jumper with Gender Dysfunction Projection issues.

P.S. Pretty much all the rigs I have jumped were good rigs in my opinion. But a buddy of mine and myself seem to have a particular liking for Gargoyles.

Best RIG??
After my FJC, i will be mostly jump WS-Base (Thats my goal for the future, after i have the experience!) and terminal Tracks from high cliffs and walls.

Wich Kombi Gear, Chute, PC(Sizes?) will be the best, keeping my goal in mind?

Thanks for possible answers!

As with all these questions, it's going to depend. It might be better to ask "what is your favorite" rather than "what is best".

Here's my recommendation for a wingsuit BASE rig:

Morpheus WS-Xtreme
9' Bridle
Asylum 38" vented ZP PC, with floating handle
Consolidated Rigging Ace (unvented) Canopy, with composite ZP topskin

Lots of people will have different opinions. Here are some thoughts:

WS-Xtreme: In my opinion, this is the best wingsuit specific rig in production. Other options (Merlin) don't seem as tested, or (VKB rig) are going to be hard to acquire or difficult to use with standard wingsuits.

9' Bridle: Many people recommend a 12' bridle for wingsuits. I haven't had any problems with a 9' bridle, and it is my opinion that a 9' bridle will move the PC far enough away to clear the burble with an appropriate pitch technique (either full flight for clean airflow, or full fall to reduce burble)

Floating handle PC: The floating handle minimizes the risk of bridle/PC entanglement, which has killed an extremely experienced BASE wingsuit pilot.

Ace: The Ace has lower pack volume than the vented alternatives, and is (in my opinion) the option most likely to hold it's resale value because of it's performance slider down. That said, if you aren't planning on selling the rig, and you won't ever do any slider down jumps, the choice of canopy is pretty minor, so you may just want to go with whatever you can find cheapest.

Re: [Waldschrat] Best RIG??
I haven't jumped it but I saw a hybrid a couple weeks ago, I was really impressed. for mostly ws that looks like a great rig. Also saw some wind tunnel test data comparing the hybrid to a couple other rigs and it had a noticable improvement in drag reduction.
For canopy would say ace/blackjack, w/asylum pc's.

Re: [TomAiello] Best RIG??
Hmm if i will take a 280-300ft² ACE, did this big canopy fits in the WS-Extreme Container?

.....because the biggest canopy sold on this site with this container is a vented 245ft².
Shortcut
Re: [Waldschrat] Best RIG??
The lower corners of the Perigee Pro are almost completely open. The container works well for wingsuit jumps. The rig does not have referrence to wingsuits in the name, but it's a fine rig for the task.
Shortcut
Re: [hookitt] Best RIG??
I currently jump a perigee pro as well, very good rig.
looking at the ws/extreme it's more about hype than anything, it's not that different than a regular gargoyle, in my opinion.
I think we will start to see some rigs that are really designed for ws, such as the hybrid.. the one I saw, robi was flying in italy, had a really low profile and clean lines, for ws rigs like that will be the future...

Call Morpheus and ask. I believe they've made some oversize WS-Xtremes (I think as prototypes) at one point or another.

That's not quite fair, the Hybrid Robi had did not contain a normal Troll.

look man, you will get a lot of different answers for this question. but I am right. and i will answer truthfully.

The best BASE container is easily the Vertigo Warlock. But, they sold out and joined up with another company and now their rig is the DP. not as cool, but its just like all the other rigs now.
Best BASE canopy is BY FAR the BlackJack with ZP topskin. and by 'BY FAR' i am serious. crazy good LD ratio, and good adjustable openings in slider up or slider off. Best risers are Morpheus. Best Pilot Chutes are Asylum. Thats that. oh, and dont get a velcro rig. that shit is sketchy.

Re: [gus] Best RIG??
true(about the not normal troll). But I based my opinion of the ws extreme on comparing it with a gargoyle side by side w/ the same size canopy.
don't get me wrong, the gargoyle/ws extreme are f-n sexy rigs, i wouldn't kickem outta bed for eating cookies....
