Re: [GreenMachine] Interesting low pull video
Damn ... that was too close for comfort towards seeing a double fatality. Maybe this is none of my business, but I'm wondering what happened to both jumpers. Obviously the camera jumper lived. But was he hurt? And I've got to think that the first guy lived as well, but did he get hurt?

Don't try this at home folks. That was just too dang close.

They are both alive and well apart from some bruises (bodily and ego wise).

Let us learn from it.

Damn, I don't see how the low jumper (the one doing aerials) survived that!!!

So the first jumper doing aerials lost control,
pulled too late, and went in on the higher
landing while the camera flyer smoked it
down low and had a hard landing?

I'm not that cold. I wouldn't post if anyone was badly hurt. Uncle C is right, bruised egos and minor scratches only.

Let me repeat what I said:

'No matter what happens, no matter what shit you see during free fall, no matter how concerned you are for your fellow jumper, don't forget to PULL! I learned a valuable lesson, you have to be a little cold, no one can save you but you, and going in out of sympathy won't help out your fellow jumper ;-) One huge scoop from the luck bucket.'

I posted this on a BASE section so BASE jumpers could hopefully learn from my mistake and my fellow jumper's mistake. It's entertaining but only because no one got (badly) hurt. Essentialy it was stupid thing to do.

I never thought I'd loose altitude awareness on a BASE jump, however, I got distracted on this one. The low pull was not deliberate, niether were the last two flips.

This was a badly executed jump.

We were lucky. End of story.

Mike.

Good job posting it Mike. I had an identical experience in my first year. A friend of mine and I did a 2way, I was filming him and he lost it and slipped sideways under me. I tracked, but I also watched him and ended up super-low. It's a trap...
