You crazy bastards-

I'm moving out to the area (Penn) and I think it would be really cool to make a BASE jump at bridge day.

Should I try to get 1st jump training beforehand?
From what I have found in the forums it seems like the bridge day FJC is pretty abrieviated.

How can I get a hold of the proper equipment?
My canopy is on the black list - none of my DZ instructors are BASE'o'Philes either.

Bridge Day and FJC course – Great!

Twin Falls and FJC (with Tom A. or Apex) – Greater!

You can rent gear from Apex for Bridge Day or for a FJC with Apex in TF. http://www.apexbase.com

Also get a few more skydives. 120 in 2 years is a little low and possibly a little uncurrent unless you started slow and it picked up.

Bridge Day has a full blown FJC as well as the free (short) course. Tom Aiello is the instructor this year and you'll get the same training at Bridge Day that you'd get in Twin Falls. That’s funny my B-day is in April 3rd. and guess what I did for my b-day??

"This is my personal opinion" I'm not saying that the FJC on Bridge day is bad. But I believe that is way better if you take a week off and take the FJC in the potato bridge with Miles or Tom.

The problem with Bridge day is that there are so many people doing FJC in so a short amount of time. For me FJC at Bridge day is really chaotic, and you don’t have enough time to assimilate all the info.

Bridge day is a good place to do 1 BASE jump. Go see if it's for you , then find proper training, ground crew....etc.

Bridge Day isn't too bad for a first time jump if you don't mind the circus going on round you and 200,000 sets of eyes on you. I did my first two there in 2004, I sort of had to figure it out myself for the most part, grabbed a friend to help strighten out the pack job from hell I put in the container, thanks Mark! The first one went great in the peas and everything, the second one the canopy was sopping wet from packing in a T-storm, and Jason's photo crew got a great 12 shot series of me deploying head down with my packed canopy boucing off my feet nicely. After that it was off to TF and the Snake River BASE Academy with Tom. Jimmy P puts on a great course at APEX also. Before BD I was at the WFFC jumping the ballons and the helos doing some practice exits, I thought that helped me see about how an exit would be.

Well there ya go. That answers that questions!

i think its good you say Short i dont think its a full course unless Tom is wasting peoples time in TF,as i rember its a loong weekend there..

Jason i know you work alot for this event and i really respect you for that,i trully hope i can join some day.
However i think calling it a full course might be on the edge.. as you said last year,its only to introduse to BASE,people arent meant to go home doing stuff solo afterward,keep it that way

So its a course meant fotr BD event..

It's a FULL FJC, just like you'd get at Twin Falls. Training lasts 3-4 days, covering the same material as you would get anywhere else. The only difference is the number of jumps made after training.
