Waterfall Peru
Yep! Shocked

On the national TV news yesterday in Holland.
They have found a new waterfall in Peru, 771 meters. A German had found it in 2002 but only now they succeeded in getting images through a Peruvian TV crew. If you go to http://www.nos.nl/jeugdjournaal/voorpagina/index.html and then in the pink field "laatste uitzending" you can see it.

It is two step waterfall, but from what I see there is at least a 500 meter vertical drop. It is very remote, off couse. Who will jump it first? Tongue The Peruvians say in 2008 there should be tours going there.

They also said that it was the 3rd highest waterfall in the world. 1 Angel Falls, OK. But 2 was a surprise to me. it is supposed to be in South Africa. Never heard of that one. Any info?

Anyway, Peru is a nice country so it's 1, 2, 3...

I'm on a slow connection right now so I'll have to wait to check it out. If it's the waterfall I am thinking about, and there aren't all that many in Peru, then all I have to say is that its already been jumped back in say 1992Wink

There is also a 700+ meter face here in Colombia that has never been jumped that a few people are looking into. From what I saw of it, it is doable and only a matter of time.Smile

Check this great site out for info in waterfalls. The one in SA looks like a nice exit but the LZ sucks!

I wonder if it has been jumped in 1992. It has only been discovered in 2002! So, check it, I would say. The name is Gocta.

Disregard, I Googled it. I've been there and thats not the one I'm thinking about. That waterfall has been known about for a long time.I guess they never bothered to measure it. The locals just call it La Chorrera which is a slang term for waterfall. Its in the middle of no where and from what I remember of it, there isn't anything I'd consider a landing area to speak of at the base but that may have changed.

The one I know of that has been jumped is located in the jungle between the towns of Tingo Maria and Tarapoto and as far as I know, is only accessible by rotary wing aircraft.

I like the link. voorpagina is an anagram of poor vagina. That's exactly my sentiment when I climb off.

In life, like in safe breaking, you have to smash that box in.Shocked
