I was 33, and the event was NRGBD 1986. I guess that means I'll celebrate 20 years of BASE on the second Saturday of October.

I was 20. BD 04. Would have been at 19 but I wanted more canopy experience and also wanted to learn more about the sport as a whole before I started. I was glad with my decision. Coco

24 yrs old, I turned down my first BASE jump in 2000 when I was 20. Trained (as well as I knew how) for a year, bought gear, chickened out. No regrets, the gear was crap. Got my ticket for BD 04, 2 jumps there, as dry as possible for actually making the landing area. No real regrets now 50 jumps later, and counting.

I made my first jump the day after i saw (at Blinc) that Skypunk had died(RIP) i never meet the guy but i sure thourght of him as i standed at a pylon 400ft above impact.ready to jump my first packed rig whith out eyes over my shoulder... thats back in 2002 nearly 4 years ago meaning i were 26,5 years old
same year as my first divorse and my broken leg aswell.

Alot of young one's.............when i was in early 20's I was partying way to hard to ever skydive or base jump... Will be 42 this summer and hoping to take a FJC..

I am 26 and still a student sky diver. I made my first sky dive at 24. It will be awhile before I get to do BASE. Hopefully I will get to do a BASE Camp soon enough.....

My new wife likes this alot.. it means that i often is the sober one at partyes,however at our way back home we dont hit a burgér bar but an object(ill find my way he he)so i can get my urban jump..
As she has hangover i then can pack the gear

26, some asshole threw me off a freestander... early summer '04. but before that, i did a low jump that left me with 2 broken vertabrae, 6 broken ribs, a broken scapula, and a collapsed lung. of course, that was without a parachute and was only about 35ft. the ground rush was intense. hence my love.

I made my first BASE jump less than a month after my 18th birthday. It was a legal jump off El Capitan in August of 1980. Had they made it legal a month earlier I would have needed a note from my Mom to get my Park Service permit (seriously).

... there are three or four teenage base jumpers now in russia and all of them are the most hardcore (they all started at the age from 16 to 19)

BASE 74 (Richie) was 16 I believe when he started BASE. 100 BASE jumps before a skydive. Center of high school yearbook had a feature on his BASE jumping. He hit a 1000 BASE jumps something like 5 to 7 years ago.

24. With George Roso and John Hoover, who were each making their second. I jumped a little with Rich Stein. I jumped a lot with Phil Smith.

I miss John Hoover. I was at his funeral. Now George Roso is an interesting character. He developed a drug addition that led him to homelessness. He somehow came out of it, got into medical school, and graduated 1st in his med school class. He's now a practicing physician.
And Richie is interesting too.
Phil Smith (BASE 1) is really low key now, being a full time family man.

1st BASE 1995 at Bridge Day 23 year old. Did B-Day every year.
Really started BASE in 1998 with proper gear. Had 800 skydives, 300 of which were on a Pegasus 220. Went through FJC from BR in Perris CA. Balloon jump trainning.
Today I'm 33 and have 581 BASE jumps and had not had a BASE related injury...knock, knock! Well, except when I hit that tower and got a few minor bruises
