Re: [herminiocordido] Toronto Area
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but any self-respecting BASE jumper following the sport's ethics will NOT be ready, willing and able to help you out. There are just too many questionable people out there and too many sites needing protection for the locals to just up and at it in terms of helping unknown people like yourself. You need to understand our ethics and respect our sport to understand why people won't just call you up and help you. Sorry ... but that's just the way it is sometimes. And I'm no authority in the sport. I'm just some dude trying to follow the ethics in order to not hurt the sport.

Herminio is a kick ass PG pilot and skydiver from Venuzela.

For a sample of previous work that he was involved in check out the film "Endless Thermal" by Sean White.

I highly doubt his intention is to go out an burn all your precious sites to aggrandisize himself.

What i mean by Base Documentary, is filming the escence of the sport without hurting or throwing shit to the exit points.
Respesting the ethics is an important part when you are making a documentary.

Sorry for scaring you, i didn't mean to.

Herminio

I am going to take a different approach to Steve here and say that I know some people who are quite willing to help you.

It’s this simple:

A number of Greater Toronto Area jumpers are going to Twin Falls in April for 10 days to jump and some to do FJCs.

You are very welcome to join us on this trip for the purpose of documentary making.

You would get tons of opportunity to get loads of daytime footage from an object where it’s perfectly OK to do that.

That’s going to be as good as it gets, though.

Anyone that knows what they are doing won’t be willing to take you to any local sites for the purposes of making a documentary, so be very wary of people that might contact you and offer that.

PM me about this and I’ll tell you to who talk to.

If the TO area BASE crew want to take him to some legal sites, then go at it, film to your hearts delight. But I can't for the life of me think that TO would have any local legal sites. We don't need another repeat of what happened in Cincinnati. If you don't understand why producing a film showing a whole bunch of illegal sites is contrary to good BASE ethics, might I suggest you direct yourself to the top of this forum and read them again. When it comes to illegal jumps, the best ones are when the only people who know about it are the jumpers and ground crew.
