LOUISVILLE -- A man was hospitalized after trying to base jump off the Waterfront Plaza building in downtown Louisville over the weekend.
Police said two others watched at about 4:30 a.m. as the victim climbed the outside of the building, WLKY NewsChannel 32's Andy Alcock reported.
He then jumped from 18 stories up, but something went wrong with his parachute.
The victim suffered a fractured elbow, bruised lungs and cuts on his forehead.
His name and condition have not been released.
Commonwealth's Attorney Dave Stengel said the man may face a criminal charge if he survives.
"About the best we've come up with is criminal trespassing, but I don't know if that'll fly," Stengel said. "Maybe not a good choice of words, but he was on the outside of the building."
