"Superterminal" DVD came in the mail today. I just watched it twice to make sure the footage is real and not computer-generated. Well, there are some nice virtual reality bits in Extras section but the main movie perfectly matches what i remember of those cliffs. It's got to be genuine

Here is a short review:

First part (tracking) defines the new dimension of BASE. VKB quietly took over the world. Nobody out there even comes close to their level.

Second part (wingsuits) beats Loic's footage. What else can i say?

Extras is a huge archive of VKB's daily business. It does proove they are only humans, after all

You really need some big wall experience to fully appreciate this footage, but it will blow your mind no matter what.

While I was hanging out in the bunkhouse at the Eloy holiday boogie somebody from Norway (I still don't know his name) put this in the DVD player and blew us all away. I asked him if I could buy it anywhere, and he said it was just a teaser, with a better release coming later. I agree that it blows away a lot of other amazing hardcore tracking/wingsuit footage...

I got my copy yesterday. By far the most hardcore tracking and Wingsuit flying I have ever seen!!
And the music choice is also excellent!!

Superterminal is basically a very large collection of short videos, some of which have been seen on the internet before. These are the same guys who brought you Virtus, Track or Die, I Fly but You Can Hardly Move, etc.

I really liked the cover art. It was a very refreshing change from our typical "hey, look at my adrenaline rush" packaging.

The content will blow your mind. The tracking is futuristic--that's the only word I can think of to describe it. I feel like these guys have pushed tracking into the next millenium.

We have been tracking like hell for a couple of years now. Elastics, Phenix etc. has helped us reaching new further away. But what is the point of traching further when you have allready reached the bottom of the valley? Well, it is now time to play with our skills. And thatis not only for VKB, or the norwegian basers. Regarding the wingsuit section: Loic has been our inspiration. He is number "uno", and will probably be it for a long time. I am just I have someone to look up to!

Finally managed to crack my mailbox open, and not for naught.

I'm speechless. Absolutely speechless. This is so far beyond any BASE footage I've ever seen. Several times the camera is practically brushing through the top of the trees during a fly-by.

A question, what happend to the guy who had a wallstrike on the night jump in the extras section?

The tracking in this film is almost unreal. The bar has been set very high by these guys and I applaud them for it.

It was me who striked the wall, and the impact was not bad at all. Back then we thaught it would be cool to make it as bad as posible. We tuned up the volume like 500% I think. I actually did not get hurt at all, and landed without any damage 1 minute later. The movie is 3 years old. Back then people called us the "kamikaze-kids". You should have seen the happiness in our eyes when we realized we had a cliffstrike on tape!!!

I just wanted to add another HOLY CRAP to this thread. Seriously, sell your entire existing BASE collection and replace it with this one DVD. Don't get me wrong, I love the slider-down stuff. But after seeing this, I'm hoping that EA will open up an office in northern Norway soon.

PilotDave is away at the moment, and I don't know if mcrocker reads these forums, but I'm going to say that this is too big for skydivingmovies.com. The website eats bandwidth as it is, and judging by the popularity of this video, a 700MB file would probably be crippling. A torrent would be a much, much better idea. Share the load people.

The main video is 14min long. I made a good quality DivX rip, it's only 97mb. If VKB decides to release it online i will be glad to upload. For now only full DVD pirate copies are allowed

Agreed, this is something that sounds like it needs to be distributed by bittorrent. A full DivX/XviD rip of the DVD should reduce it to 700 or 800 MB; making a torrent and seeding it does require some initial bandwidth, but it does not have to be fast, if people are willing to be patient.

I'll help anyone who has the dvd is willing to rip it and set up a torrent. PM me. It's not that hard, but requires some patience.

VKB held their weekly Karsk-meeting last night. After a small discussion early in the Karsk-drinking we came to an agreement:

1. You can copy the whole DVD, some of it, make torrents or whatever. But, we hope that people copy the DVD in DVD quality. It would be a bit irritating if the 14 min main film occurred, for example at skydivingmovies in low quality. "A piece of art should not be cut in half"

2. We will make more copies of the DVD. Everyone who wants to buy it will get that chance. Info on how to buy it are coming later on this website.

3. We hope that as many as possible get the whole DVD. It is a product, with design of cover etc. Especially MasterOfMorals, Joelle, is very proud of his work on the cover.

4. This is the official statement, so there should be no doubt from no on. Sorry all the misunderstandings.

as you probably have understood, we don't mind copying the dvd to friends. but we would like to keep the whole thing in one piece as long as possible, and also keep the quality. so please don't put parts of the dvd (the main movie) on skydivingmovies or similar websites... we can do this ourselves..

I would like to have Superterminal in my collection in the original DVD quality. I haven't managed to find it elsewhere, only low-quality copies. So, is it possible to buy it anywhere? As far as I remember, the authors did not mind it being distributed via Internet. If nothing has changed with the copyright issues, I am able to download it wrom anywhere, either via http, or ftp, or bittorrent. JPEG or GIF of the cover artwork would be appreciated as well.

Thanks to VKB for letting us go.

Here's what I propose. I run a private FTP server, and anyone who has a working copy of the movie may PM me and I'll hit them back with the address, login and password. You will upload the movie there and it may be made available for download for those who need it. Just try to include a JPEG or a GIF of the cover art, please.

As for me, I am willing to pay for the copy, and I can do it via PayPal. Han-Solo, please PM me the requisits, or just post it here for everyone else who wants to pay as well.

I guess, this would be the simplest and the quickest way to re-distribute the movie. The speed of my server's Internet connnection is rather good.

The movie may also be distributed via BitTorrent - again, this can be done either by me, or any other torrent user.

However, if VKB insists on sending out physical copies, that's OK. I'd subscribe for one copy with performers' signatures, if possible.

I have an image file (.nrg) of the whole dvd if someone has a place to host it. Tried to put it on a server I have access to, but it's too big (4,5 gig). So the FTP Airgazm mentioned might work better, or something else. For us, this is not really business anyway, we just distribute them since people seem to enjoy them. If anyone wants a real copy, we charge 25EUR including shipping (e-mail me hansho@stud.ntnu.no). So where do you want me to upload it?

Seems like you have to register to download the torrent file?

yes, you have to register and keep a .3 U/D ratio. Which means for every 1GB of downloads you need to upload (seed) a minimum of 300MB. The catch is to register, and download the same day, as they batch out your downloads on daily basis (i think).

I ripped the movies to mp4 with decent quality, but what I can do is zip the dvd image, and provide a torrent to share

Glad to see that you guys are handling this. I was in the process of uploading it to Airgazm, but apparently his ftp had some problems and I only did like half of the file. Haven't heard from him since...
Anyway, the imagefile will be about 4,5gig as mentioned. That's full dvd quality of the whole lot. I guess as soon as enough people are sharing it will be ok. Have a blast!

DVD's are not that hard to produce and all anyone can talk about is how to.......I don't even understand what the problem is...... This thread has gone on for how loooooooooooong. A scenario that I have personally experienced is that my first paid copy of the DVD failed after only a few plays. VKB were very responsive and kindly sent me another COPY free of all charges and remember I live in Africa. This copy lasted for about five plays then began staggering and now won't play at all. My DVD player is not the cause and I've not had similar problems with any other DVD's before or after. I might add that I don't think I'm the only one that has experienced such problems with this particular DVD.

To answer your question – yes I would like to gain access to a downloadable copy of Superterminal.

I think it was previously mentioned that VKB would not mind this film being shared however in saying that I still think it should be chargeable.

So now it's finally out there. Here is the torrent needed. As of now there are about 10 seeders. The file is a .nrg (Nero Disk Image) file. Hopefully it works... Let me know if not.

For everyone downloading the torrent from thepiratebay, I can confirm that it does work. So big thanks to the producers of the film for making it available for free.


So for everyone interested in downloading the film, here is what I had to do to get it to work (it took a little time but it was worth it).

-Download and install a free torrent client, such as uTorrent or bitlord (I used bitLord, www.bitlord.com)

-Go here ( http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4563941/Superterminal ) and download the torrent (choose open with.. bitlord/utorrent/whatever torrent client you installed is). It took about 3 days to download the file on a cable modem.

The file is a .nrg (Nero Disc Image), so you'll need Nero or other compatible software to burn this image to a dvd. I haven't had trouble burning Nero images in the past but for some reason I'd get an error message every time I tried to burn this image to dvd. It could be because my version of Nero is older, but I didn't want to buy a new version so I went a different route.


If you have trouble burning to dvd like I did and don't mind watching it from your computer you can do this:

-I downloaded a free program called MagicISO Virtual DVD-ROM, which basically allows you to mount a disc image onto a "virtual" DVD-ROM that it creates on your hard-drive. It is available here ( http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm )

Using this software, when you mount the Superterminal .nrg file to the virtual DVD-ROM it automatically opens it and begins playing it in Windows Media Player as if you just inserted the actual Superterminal dvd into your computer.

Windows Media Player 11 was giving me trouble with the audio so I downloaded WMP Classic here ( http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm ).

And FINALLY, it plays perfectly. Awesome film!

Plays with VLC player too. I am seeding both torrents and will continue to do so. Thanks to Han-Solo and the rest of the VKB. I had the DVD but it got into a fight with a dog and lost. Happy to have it again.
