Let us use a spectre 230 v.s a flik 322 for an example. What kind of line trim difference does these two canopies have?

Also does the DBS affect just affect the tail, or does it trim out the canopy a bit due to it being an agressive setting?

I just wonder that in general, but on a related note I have a BASE packing video, and a PDF file on packing, and want to try it out. I just wonder if BASE packing will work the same on a spectre 230?

I have tried packing a spectre like a BASE canopy, and it didn't work too well; from what I was told it was in part due to the spectre being a tapered canopy. I'm sure someone else here will have a much better answer but I do know it's much different.

I don't have any specific knowledge about the Spectre.

Skydiving canopies are usually trimmed flatter than BASE canopies. BASE canopies tend toward a steeper down-angle to help with inflation at low airspeeds.


The DBS pretty much just effects the tail. If you change the brake setting on a BASE canopy, the rest of the canopy still falls in the same places when you pack it.

The probability of survival is maybe equal to the cosine of the angle of arrival. cos(0)=1...cos(90)=0 1 corresponds to 100%...sorry i'm bored

You're asking if making an alcoholic drink with citrus or apple juice makes any difference,here. Sure they're both "juice" and both taste great, but you are using two examples that are different enough to need WAY more sampling to give a diffinitive answer. Test parameters such as juice to booze ratio, glass size/shape, straw size, ice/ no ice should all be considered, along with the testing personnell age, weight and experience.
