I am looking for some ins and outs of taking a trip to Moab. I will only be skydiving at the DZ and hiking in the desert, so I'd like to know if anyone has gone there and jumped at the DZ and what your thoughts were about it.

Skydive Moab ought to be able to answer your questions. Clint and Shelley are great people, and if you call them up I'm sure they can answer questions for you.

There's a campground out there that is owned by a jumper, and in the winter (off) season the hotels are pretty cheap.

I'd definitely head out there. If you're driving, be sure to research the wacky Utah alcohol laws and conduct yourself appropriately.

I was out there 3 weeks ago. Didn't go to the DZ, but I did go visit Clint.(DZO, S.D. moab) He said he was about to shut down for the winter. Was told that most of the tour operators close for the season about now also.

Nice pic, smart pants. We were in rare form that night, huh? I think we've kept to the disguise rules concerning pics of basejumpers on this forum. No one would recognize those clowns.

Just thought you would like to know we are going out to the tower on the anniversary, this will be my 1st time and the boy's 1st time since.

I'll let you know our dates for going to the desert. I hope it can be when the DZ is open, but perhaps if not it will require a drive to CA.

I spoke with Clint this weekend and the plane is gone for the winter...

Well, I guess it will be hiking, groundcrew, and a short trip to Eloy or CA for me.
