Hi all,

I don't write much and this is my first post in the BASE forums. I got my new rig this week and just wanted to share with you. I'm planning to do my first BASE jump on monday/tuesday. Wish me luck.

The name of the container is Atmosphere

My friend, beleive it or not, the canopy doesn't have a name, yet

No, the reason the canopy doesn't have a name is that it's a new canopy recently developed by a Russian manufacturer. It's been jumped and it's great. They are not in a hurry to name it something, mine is only the second of that kind, so I guess for the time being I could name it whatever I want. Any suggestions?

Ok, I'm going to name my canopy SkyWalker for now. Thanks to my friend ACMESkydiver

not that this has absolutely anything to do with BASE in general, but last I checked Czech was not identical to Russian. So I will stick with my spelling of the language I have spoken for the last 25 years.

I just emailed ParaAvis to get an english order form and a price list for the atmosphere container, and Olga told me they discontinued manufacturing the atmosphere container because a new design was on tis way. Is your conatiner the newly designed or the old one?
She told me it should be out real soon

The Atmosphere container is by Atmosphere Gear Company (check the AG logo on this particular rig). AG Company belongs to Dmitry Neposedov -- the ex-chief of skydiving departament of ParAAvis company.
At the same time ParAAvis company continues to produce it.
Dmitry has slighly changed the construction of the rig after he left ParAAvis.
ParAAvis may change the construction as well.
I haven't seen any single Atmosphere by ParAAvis since Dmitry left em. But that means nothing probably they're still selling it.
I've seen dozens of Atmosphere by AG Company. The first dozen was discounted as well because of the changes and research-in-process.
My Atmosphere is a very old one (09.2002) -- I guess it's from the first dozen of rigs ever manufactured by ParAAvis -- but I still like it (it has ~200 jumps on it).

If a thread discussing base gear ever gets deleted for not beeing made by an american manufactor - that is the same day this forum will loose the rest of its credibility and me as a reader

However, if you ask for my views, BASE shouldn't be thought of as of something easy-to-get-into and simple-to-do. Anyone thinking about getting into BASE should give it a huge amount of consideration beforehand.

She is. Is there too much flash? Haven't experienced any problems with it myself, but any feedbacks are more than welcome.

I dont know about BlackLite but I sure could use something in Bright-Neon for Deer Season this year.

100% width and 100% height will not work in Firefox.

What if someone was using a wide format LCD? Everything would be stretched and look yuck....
