I am refering to the bicycle jump from the very large A.
That bike struck the A didn't it?

Skydivingmovies seems to have an sql error now.

They are having database errors lately.
It will come back eventually.

Since we know that the publicity is Jimmy's primary motivation, and his video sales and distribution is important to him, I suggest that folks who object to his activities simply boycott his videos. I'm guessing that is the kind of pressure that he is most likely to respond it.

Sadly, I doubt he'd get the message the way John did.

when i first saw radix (or whatever the hell it is) there were several local objects i jump and try very hard to protect for myself and others. they were being day blazed and totally disrespected. i told all my friends not to buy that shit b/c of that very reason. boycotting his videos is a great idea and i encourage everyone to do the same.

i have not seen the teaser for the new one, but i can only imagine!

keep on making kick ass films jimmy!! and I'll keep watching and next time you see danilo out in Lodi, tell him josh said whats up!

Well, "mean" would not exactly be the word...
But here is one example of what brought me to my conclusion about your attitude.
when you had to video my grad jump (my jump no 7 or 8 not exactly sure... first jump from top altitude from the king air with all the confidence that this implies from a student who goes through the static program in lodi ) I asked you for a gear check before getting on the plane.
You looked at me like I was a stupid idiot for even daring asking that... and here was your answer after a 1 second glance at me from 3 feet away:

"looks fine to me"


then during that jump you forgot to turn your cam on before exit... Which obviously pissed you off and I guess you had to take your anger out on someone wich turned out to be me.

and here is another example of your lovely attitude:

Making fun of an hearing impaired tandem student... to me is completely disrespectful and not cool at all.
I am convinced that you ruined a bit his first and maybe only experience with the sky that day.

To me that's immensly uncool, unprofessional and shows a lack of basic respect for another human being.

So even if you are absolut kick ass skydiver and base jumper...(I am the first one to recognise that) your condescending attitude ruins yours skills and your videos.

Frankly, i am not interested in seeing or promoting a video (although surely excellent) made by a guy like this.

Dude! I don't get it! You have everything to be absolutely successful, but I firmly believe your attitude is hindering your endeavors.

The skydiving and base jumping is amazing, but dude why the hell did you stand there and let someone spray mace in your eyes.

The rest of the clip shows skill and big balls.

By the way people, it wasn't a Mr. Bill in that teaser. A Mr. Bill is when both people are wearing parachutes. This type of jumping is called "Freebasing" as in free solo climbing. Get it right! And no, he wasn't wearing any hidden back up. What an IDIOT!

So who was doing the freebasing!?! Was it Jimmy going without a chute?

This is my first time writing on the Dork Zone. I read through some of the post from time to time to see what everyone is currently whining about.

Seriously I think many of you need to figure it out. I have never seen so many whining, complaining, finger pointing, judgemental people.

instead of anonymously starting to attack everyone here on the board on your first post, tell us who you are (if you really have the balls to do that).

People here want to help each other, share knowledge, discuss things to progress the sport of Basejumping. If that is whining and etc to you shouldn't hang around here.

If you are here to start fighting, then please go somewhere else.

You are welcome to participate here in discussions, but please, be a bit friendlier towards everyone here.

I'll stop whining now, I'm not the moderator here.

Look, I am not trying to attack anyone. I am a friendly Rubberball. When you say this forum is for help, sharing, and progession I think that is great. It is good for people to learn, ask questions and figure out what BASE jumping is about. Can be a good tool for that.

I too often see people making ridiculous comments about each other, This person did this,he/she said that. So many opinons on the way others do things. Hey, everyone looks at things differently. You would think those that BASE jump would understand that looking at things differently part.

I wrote intially because I saw the bashing of Jimmy's trailer. I think Jimmy has done great things to BASE jumping. So it may not be your style but it's his. He has given us all some of the best air to air BASE jumping footage around.

As far as the soul part goes, I think Jimmy has plenty of soul, baseing his life around jumping out of or off of things. Jimmy and his buds have helped progess the sport 3 fold. You cannot speak badly of that unless you are content with a stagnent sport

I wont bother you or hang around here anymore because I might become a whinner and complainer. After seeing so much of it I figured I would say something and stick up for Jimmy.

I've found myself defending Jimmy.
and he provides amazing footage of things few should even try.

no questions, no arguments.

but how has he advanced the sport?
three rings, tailgates, bottom skin vents, organizing events (or locations), instructing, these have helped the sport.

while his images are definately impressive, they also raise the profile on an activity generally done in the dark of night. personally, I prefer the local authorities not realize BASE is happening here.

Jimmy's videos show the same authorities where to look...

again, how has Jimmy advanced the sport?

I know Peeps arent supposed to use names here but I think I recognize that guy from when I was skydiving a few years back and I think he goes by the alias Binko Begnini- great tracker by the way.

Im with you Mr Blueballs, err Rubberballs, I also check out these boards once in a while to see what some of the guys that got me interested/ taught me to skydive are up to- and what a treat it is to read a couple of the priceless, heavilly viewed entertainment threads- just like Survibor but on the internet.

we agree on that Jimmy has made some amazing videos.
we agree that many will enjoy watching them over & over.
obviously, there is a tremendous entertainment value associated with Jimmy.

but I'm still unclear on how that benefits the sport...
how it makes BASE better...

(I'm betting we define benefit/better/progress a bit differently.)

I think Jimmy's videos are related to that of kick ass skydiving videos. People see them and are not only shocked, amazed and entertained but also it gets them pumped to get out there and better their skills to enable them to be more creative and experimental. Same with freefly videos I see. I see a video of a 35 way HD and I get pumped to get out there and get better so I can do things like that in the future.

Also for bettering the sport; the more people that get these feelings, the more people there will be participating in the sport. The more people, the more voices, and maybe one day it will become mainstream which will get us more legal sites to jump. Every little bit helps. And if you don’t like what he is going, just don’t watch his video’s. It’s as simple as that.

I am not sure if a really huge amount of people entering the sport is a good thing.
I don't want basejumping to become mainstream and to become commercialised. I don't want basejumping to become a sport like football.
Basejumpers are a happy little family, and I would like that it stays that way when I can enter the sport. While getting the family a bit bigger isn't bad, to much is to much.
A wise guy once told me that base is somewhere now where skydiving was around 25 years ago. If I look at what skydiving is these days, I don't want base to become like that!

I do agree that seeing videos of advanced jumps etc, can inspire you to work hard to be able to do that too. Videos of advanced gymnastic manouvers inspire me to train around 5 hours a week at the pool.

Looking at it that way, Jimmy's videos advance the sport in an indirect way. Actually, the videos encourage people to advance the sport.

it is quite valid.

I tend to prefer gear advances. they are knowns that obviously help everyone who chooses to use them.

unfortunately, videos of way cool aerials also inspired people to do them WITHOUT training. great vidoes can thereby place the sport at risk. it's a sword that can cut both ways, inspiring more people to improve their skills, or to just get hurt (especially those who hadn't jumped yet).

when talented people compile cutting edge video, they can make it LOOK so easy... thankfully, I remember seeing some carnage in RADIX (I was offered a copied disk, but declined. at least have the decency to PAY the people making the disks...). carnage reels strip the illusion of the beauty shots.

Actually Tom has something in mind which comes pretty darn close.

And no I'm not tellin'...

I've seen the final edit of Keen'N Able, WOW! Geat stuff, Jimmy! Getting out and doing it year after year is what it's about.
