Basejumper.com - archive

I'm not a base jumper (yet) but have been reading the forums, magazine articles, etc. and been curious about the definitions?
Why does base call them 'yonkles", "seatbelts", etc. when us skydivers call them "togles", "risers", etc.
Help me feed my curiousity and explain any other definitions i didnt list.

Basejumpers do use the same terms. They do talk about toggles and risers just like in skydive.
Only deathcampers use yonkels and seatbelts

and yet it becomes more interesting/confusing. Deathcamper????

A deathcamper is some-one without of with very limited skydive experience is thoughed how to basejump. I think S.M. started to use these terms, probably just jokewise.

Really, just forget about yonkels etc. Use the terms used in skydive.
