hi. did a slider down from paraglider the other day. 3-4 sec. delay. nice packjob with tailgate. got a lineover, left steering lines. turned 270 before i popped the toggles. it cleared itself. landed fine on risers. dagger 244.

anybody experienced lineover with tailgate? could the slightly long delay cause something like that? theories from u people...?

just glad it didnt happen from one of the hairy little cliffs around here...

At what point on the canopy was the line-over? Was the corner just bend down, or was it a full-on bow-tie with the line close to the center of the canopy?

What kind of tools (number of clamps, bungees, tie off lines near center) did you use on this packjob?

What kind of tailgate closure? Black or normal rubberband, larkhead or not, how many wraps?

Did you try clearing the line-over by pumping the steering lines, or did you throw them away immediately?

How violent was the 270? Do you think this was about as fast as you could have cleared it?

Edit to add question; did you try to maintain a heading at all? Do you think it would have been possible to counter steer the turn with a riser and avoid the imaginery object behind you?

Sorry for all the questions. Probably the biggest cause of your line-over was just random chaos, but I'm curious about the little details anyway.

hi again.

the steering line was close to the center of canopy. didnt use clamps, or other tools, never did for 300 jumps. i get consistant nice openings.

in my tailgate i had center c, d, and steering lines. normal rubberband, 2 wraps. no larkhead.

i did not try to pump, threw them instantly. the 270 was quite fast but i guess i could have done it faster. after the opening shock i just couldnt beleive my own eyes for a nanosecond...hmm....

no, i dont think i would have had time to counter that 270 fast enough for something that is not solid overhung.

please share your experience with me on this if anybody has some. i would very much like to pin it to something i did wrong.
