Tips and Tricks
I thought it would be cool to have a thread where everyone posts little things that have made their base lives easier. I'll get it started with three things that I do:

1. When stashing my gear, I always put my helmet in last and up-side-down to avoid getting sweat all over my canopy. I've read in several places that sweat is one of the worst things for your canopy.

2. I always keep an extra tailgate rubberband on each handle of my packing clamps. That's a total of eight rubberbands right there when you need one.

3. I always tie a slip knot to close my stash bag. That way it never slips open when I don't want it to, and I can still open it quickly when I do want to.

The coffee in jail is often bitter, so always ask for tea . . .

If I know I am going to do a SL, I will attach all my "metal hardware", with a pretied length of BreakCord looped up with a rubberband around the BC, to the bridal attachment point.

I always carried a fag-bag(or as the fags call it, a fanny pack) In it, I would have a pair of gloves, several wind drifts, small wrench, small swiss army knife, finger trap fid, several pieces of break-cord, long piece of tie-off, several tail-gates, as well as bands, lrg and sm, radio, and a small light. This would assure me to have pretty much anything I needed to make all kinds of jumps. It also worked as a packing aid in the field. You can use the fag-bag to secure your rig to almost anything to get good tension while packing. This was my everyday FB, I also had an urban bag which had all of the above plus, an array of other tools.

After climbing an urban crane I found the trap door locked by a cheesy little gold lock. Unsure There was no way to climb around the door so I had to climb down. I now keep my lock picks in my fag bag.

Be aware that getting caught with lock picks can bump a run of the mill misdemeanor trespass up to a felony.

1)always put my canopy in my stash bag before i take off my harness, this stops any weird twists and walk throughs................
2) always carry a red LED and pull up as trying to close your container on top with a shoe lace in pitch black is not fun (hey S or K hehe)
3) Always jump with someone experienced in first aid - you might need them some day
4) carry crutches (or jump with someone strong enough to carry you) and a tool kit in your car just in case you need to extract someone with a bust leg (ask evil ivan what its like to hop from the landing area with a fucked tib and fib) from somewhere you should not be
5) Always carry extra TG's and TG bands when packing in the field
6)Always ensure you check your stash bag when leaving the house as you dont want to turn up with a skydive rig to the object
7) Always take your other PCs as you may go from a 42 jump to a 46 jump without notice
8) Always jump with decent boots - I found they stop your tib breaking out of the skin on the bottom of your foot

A list of four digit combinations to Master locks found on sites is a wonderful addition to avoid scaling razor wire.

The obvious roll of tp is nice to avoid having to use your socks, and save the disgusting feeling of being "not completely clean." Unless you're just hardcore like Pringles and use one big pine cone.
