Looking for some new "E"s?
Well if you're willing to hop on a plane to Afghanistan there are several great launch points on a series of faces that can be hucked. Of the 2 I huck, I mean landed on for a recon, the lowest one was just under 2000 feet from launch point to landing area. The highest was 2630 feet from launch to landing area. There are many more launch points that I was unable to check out and at least 2 whole wall systems that I spotted but didn't get a chance to look at closely, but I think are all do-able.Wink Enjoy

Re: [LouDiamond] Looking for some new "E"s?
What would be cooler is if you had a team that overlooked the fact that you were taking the already hazardous situation and making it worse for yourself and everyone. Then have them pull security while you found your way back up to the drop off point or wait until you get to the top to jump it. Ah, wouldn't life be great. I had my rig with me. Team didn't mesh with the idea though. I mostly got blank stares.

I wonder if there are BASE jumpers in Taliban. Imagine Osama flying a Birdman. Laugh

PM me if you are interested in some other locations. all I can say is... a drop in the bucket...

Afganistan could have SUCH an awesome heli-skiing and BASE industry...

maybe in 20 years when it joins the rest of the 'modern world'

I havn't seen any E's here in Iraq, but i have seen some great A's that I'm sure have yet to be opened up. Unfortunatly my rig didn't make the packing list for the trip over here. Oh well.

Lou, I'm down at Cunningham at BAF. I think I flew through those canyons two weeks ago coming back from Salerno.

If we have two different locations in mind, there's some awesome terrain out there as you are aware.

My condolences on losing SFC Munoz and SFC Johnson.

Take care and be safe,

Those walls are not as far up as Salerno but I'm sure you have some nice ones up that way as wellWink

Thanks, We had a memorial here on wed. for SFC Johnson.
