Something shown in the UK several years ago - "seconds to impact" covered part of this story as he was being interviewed for the documentary whislt in Norway before his accident.............

I would be curious to see this version too.........

For those who don't know about this incident, it was one of the biggest threats to the major legal BASE site in Southern Norway. Terry had a wall strike, and ended up stuck on a ledge. He apparently tried to self-rescue by jumping from the ledge and firing his reserve.

For me, the incident underlines two big points:

1) Skydiving rigs are not appropriate for BASE.
2) Everyone needs to discuss BASE (and it's risks) with their families.

In addition, there is some speculation that had Terry been carrying a radio, he would have known that rescuers were on the way, and stayed put (and survived). That sounds like a pretty good reason to carry a radio, if you ask me.

I haven't seen the film, but I think I'll try to, if I get a chance.

People were still BASE jumping with skydiving gear in 1999? I thought by 1999 everyone was using BASE specific gear. Crazy.

 
it was his second base-jump. the first one didn't look very good either.

a documentary was made (in norway) on the incident and the following trial. good thing the judges could see straight.

people still BASE skydiving rigs now, and you'll most likely see it for years to come... at least at Bridge Day.

its horrible to see when people throw pilotchute from hand and they have slider up.....
snivel after snivel.....aften 0-2 sec....

Looks like the Last Stunt only plays tonight, not tomorrow night.
