Yeah, absolutely!

I can't wait to hear about it. Sorry we couldn't make it out there but we'll be eagerly awaiting news.

Warning to all: The local for this jump has requested that all information about it stay off the internet until after it's done. I will aggressively remove posts giving any information about the jump before Monday.

I don't think anyone wants to give this one away yetSmile
I just hope there is a really good plan in place and everyone involved sticks to it. It has the potential to be grand or grave(no pun intended)! But then again don't all jumps???

please be safe!

The twins and J.U. got theirs, the wind blew some sense into the others!

Good to see some cells alive out there!

Ok, this is starting to drift into descriptions of the jump.

I'm shelving this thread for the next day or so.

Re: [TomAiello] Good Luck!
Ok. They're all done, and folks are headed home. Sounds like they got no love, due to weather. Nice attempt though. I love the concept--it's so BASE.

I'll unlock this thread now. Keep in mind that I'll still edit out site names, and some jumper names (by request) as well.

For those following along at home, this was about big way attempts being made from a not strictly legal object.

Re: [TomAiello] Good Luck!
I wonder what would happen to a tower in general if 1 to 1.5 or 2 tons left it all at once, or even staggered?

How structurally sound are they? Don't most A's have a wind rating?

What is the current mass jump record from an A?

ToM.. edit this if necessary...

Re: [leroydb] Good Luck!
We had some very qualified technical advisors along to assess pretty much anything you can think of.

I just want to personally thank the organizers for their hard work and hospitality. The plan was a great one that everyone felt very good about. The jumpers that attended were all top notch. If the weather had cooperated, it would have happened.

But even though the jump didn't happen, I personally felt the trip was a success. I got to see some old friends again and make some new ones. And for me, at least, jumps are just icing on the cake.

So the current record of 30 still stands... for now. Wink

Can't wait to try again...

On the treck home, we stopped at our local A. If the conditions were like that over the weekend, we would have been popping champagne in celebration. Oh well, till next time... stay safe and track hard Wink

Re: [Zennie] Good Luck!
Wink Right on. This was a great trip just for me to see at least 3 generations of BASE jumpers from all over. Joy and I see all these names on BASE applications and on the Zone, but it was cool to connect a few faces with names. Everyone was positive and after an hour of dirt dives it even convinced an old fart like me that we had good air and good separation. Utah did a great job. Also thanks to an old friend for putting us up. You just can't fool mother nature. It was a good time and a great task to get this many folks together.

Re: [FIREFLYR] Good Luck!
What I learned from the trip:
1. It gets cold on the top of an antenna at night.
2. Drinking beer at 8am is a great way to start the
morning, or in our case, end the day.
3. When a group of chemically imbalanced people (ie.
ADD, OCD, CRAZY, etc.) are put together, something
great is going to happen.
4. Campfires rock!

Other than that I had a blast meeting everyone. Much thanks to the hospitality of the locals and the organizers who put this shindig together.

Doug

Definitely a surreal fun trip even though mother nature wasn't too cooperative. Thanks to the organizers and our host for all their efforts. Great meeting everyone.

There are people on here trying to post as if they too had been invited to the 40 way. I tried to comment on it but was scolded and my post removed by Tom. We know who was invited and who wasn't.

Im going to Blink and Sonic Beef.com and post the whole story.

Rather than let this devolve into yet another rehashing of the LeroyDB saga, I'm going to lock this thread.

I'm rather tired of policing this.

John, if you persist in trying to bring this up on this forum, I will ban you.
