SL'ing a Sabre 107
I’m going to be trying several static line type jumps from a tandem paraglider (again). I’ve done this before using my vented Fox 225 both with and without a slider (used tailgate when jumped without slider). The goal of mine is to jump my Sabre 107 this way. I’d like to be able to slowly downsize canopies step by step rather than killing myself going from a Fox 225 to a Sabre 107. I’m going to borrow canopies from people starting with a 190 then a 170 then 150 and so on until I feel comfortable jumping the 107. The question I have is this. What should I do about a slider? Should I use the sail slider the canopy has on it or should I take it off and use some tape as a tailgate? Or should I get a mesh slider made for each canopy? Getting a mesh slider made for every different size would get expensive. I plan on doing these jumps from an altitude of around 1000’ AGL and I would have a round hand deploy type paragliding reserve (although I don’t trust those types of reserves much). I know this isn't the smartest idea but it's something I want to do and I am just trying to find out the safest way of doing it.
