OK, I've bundled PCA and SL together which is obviously totally wrong, but it will force you to write something about you SL minimum

I've posted this cos I'm recovering from injury which is a great way of re-evaluating your margins in the sport.... as it happens, mine are the same (300ft freefall, 220 PCA or SL), but anyone want to comment on whether they changed their minimums after injury I think it would be educational...

Doesn't the acceptable altitude differ between jumps? I've PCA'd/SL'd about 200 without problems on one site, but wouldn't consider it on other objects with more technical stuff like hairy'er landings etc...

I'm a BASE injury virgin and am knocking on wood right now to stay that way!

He was referring to the "perfect zone", where only alt and method of deployment were the variables. But ya did good by bringing up your point, after all this is a mostly skydiver site,

ha ha you cracy f..k... Lowest i SL so far were 43m/143ft( ? dont have a calculater here)i had 4 sec of canopy flight.. i tend to jump 40m over hardground anytime soon,i will tekst you if i die
Lowest i freefall is 180ft
Before my injury i never jumped below 400ft..

hook up in mac and go visit me this year,i have a nice place were you can land in daytime. you can jump from the alti 180ft-900ft...(it can all be freefallen,belive me,its on vid)
about mac? he will GC us,making cool vid and getting drunk oh ask Sean to join aswell

after my injury, in which i am still recovering, I had thought about my acceptable limits alot.

I broke myself on a 210ft freefall that was caused by (a) over delay (b) equipment issue - both together bringing me a bit of a problem.

After some thought I think that I would now be happy freefalling around the 250ft mark (dependant on object of course) - and that is well within my comfort zone. Previously I would be happy to freefall down to 200ft - but this injury has indeed made me reconsider my acceptable levels.

I know a certain Dane with a bad grasp of English spelling that broke himself in the days where he was freefalling 400ft........ on his return from injury he now freefalls sub200..... so I guess you can never really tell until you are back in the field!

Lets just all be fucking safe out there........ - certain types of phone call suck!

neither can you now if you start doing 100ft SL all the time as you get back,then you scares me

By the way i really hope that you still will jump(i say this as i know you aint happy about PCA) the park whith Pylons,even as they are abit lower than your 250ft leveloh and as we are there,perhaps a last jump from a certain gasstower perhaps Or what about the house???

Mate you live in UK,stuff is nice low there... i know i cant say for sure that you will jump it all but i know that some of it you will.
I also were scared as i went back after my injury but i figure our limits are moving all the time.

when i were a wuffo i wanted to try out skydiving,but were scared about it,only super extreme persons did that
when i become a skydiver i meant that BASE jumpers were mad people.
As i had aprox 300skydives,i wanted to BASE,but i were scared about it.
when i had aprox 450-500skydives i got my first jump off 400ft,and i desided that i would never jump below 300ft
After aprox 50BASEjumps and 1 injury i started to freefall sub 300ft,but promised myself that stowed jumps and slider off jumps aint me.
After aprox 130jumps i found an object(400ft)were i need both hands to climb to the exit point,which means i now has started to jump stowed off 400ft,to be ready to open the new place.
At this point im ok by stowed from 400ft(but still prefere handheld),but think lower stowed or arials from that alti is scaryshit..

Now go figure.. could be fun to read all this stuff in a year or 2 from now and see were i am then....

We all have our personal limits which moves all the time,either one or the other way,only thing i learned about all this is,that what seems mad today perhaps is fun tomo.
We all know the game and its rules,only YOU can deside what is right for you.

So Mac are you on for a long wekend at my place this year. I know your low budget,but as you helped me as i were down,so will i help you

The park pylons, well maybe I can accept those jumps, just without the delays I used to take from them. The gastower, well I aint ever jumping that again - I had done that a few times and always knew that one day it may bite me in the arse.... and "low" and behold it did....

As for moving limits, this is very true. When I started BASE I decided not to freefall below 300ft, this changed with time and experience and confidence.

The injury has made me reassess the limits, as my last jump I had left myself with zero room for error in the delay i took, and of course like murphy normally does, throws up a small issue at the wrong time to fuck you about! - my reassesment comes from the fact that I want more room for error - the types of jumps I do will change from what I usually was comfortable. This is just because of where i am at the moment. Who knows where i will be in times to come.

One of the things i like about this sport is that one mans fun is another mans madness. I hear of people doing things that I just think - whoa! fuck that........

This raises two questions for me:

1) Does currency give people a "false" sense of ability? Just because you may have done 20 jumps in the past week does that really increase your skills to the levels that are percieved? or does it just raise your confidence more?

2) Does over confidence bring a mindset that means a "bullet proof" mentality and lack of respect seeps into the jumper? Does this mean that the jumper is less likely to react as well to a situation then someone "expecting murphy to fuck ya up"? - Do you have to keep reminding yourself not to get carried away?

Iam not saying this is so, or not so, or relates to everyone - I would be interested in the discussion thats all - as I know that my injury came about from jumping with an over confidence of myself and my gear in taking a big delay from a low object.......

.......and Faber, not sure about the trip as I cant say when I will be back on my feet again, or if i will have a job, or any money, - getting injured aint just about broken bones I have found!

I do belive that humans can pull more off than they belive they can,some people just find out some dosnt,and that could be the diff. if you feel its a mad thing or fun...

The broken bones in an injury are sometimes the smallest problem you´ll get from that injury.The fact that you lose mony,what you thourght were freinds and the big headfuck that comes when you have been down long enough....

glad that you finaly recovered,next time you perhaps will take time off work as im in the UK
