New Forum Rules
For those of you who only visit this forum, and may have missed the recent changes at DZ.com in general: Sangiro has enacted a new set of Forum Rules and Policies. Please take a minute and read over them.
Their are some major changes to both the forum rules and the structure of the other forums. While I won't go into them in depth here, I did want to point out a few that may effect this forum:

Advertising is forbidden in all forums except where noted. An ad is defined as “a service or product being offered for trade or sale”. It does not include events or seminars.
This means that BASE events and expeditions are welcome to post notices here. Please try not to abuse this privilege by posting "come on my trip" threads that don't include much information. I'd love to see trips, classes and seminars posted, with as much description as you can give us.

As an open public forum user, you are responsible for your own communications and are responsible for the consequences of posting those communications. We will usually not honor requests for post removals or editing. You can edit or delete your own posts for up to 6 hours after you posted.
So, be sure you say what you meant to say. For my part, I'll refrain from splitting threads (which may take people out of context) without the permission of the poster.

Any abuse directed at our volunteer moderation team in the forums or via private message, including defying the moderators to suspend or ban a member, may result in an immediate suspension or ban. "Gripe" threads about any action from a moderator including "Where did my post go?" posts will me removed. If you have questions about a moderator's action and they did not provide a reason for the intervention, please contact them via private message.
In general, I'll leave in posts saying "I think the moderator unfairly changed my meaning, here's what I meant," in the same thread. I'll remove posts that start a new thread on this topic, or that fail to explain your complaint. I'll also remove complaints about moderation that are made without reference to a specific moderator action. I'd prefer that everyone just PM me directly if you have a complaint about moderation, so that we can try to resolve it.

References to pedophilia can only be made in a factual context or in discussion of certain political and social issues. Outside of those limited contexts Dropzone.com will have a zero-tolerance policy to pedophilia and any reference thereto will be removed without explanation.
This is an enumeration of the pedophilia policy. I mention it because I recently edited a post that included a valid (in my eyes) comment about child molestation charges filed against an NPS official who was a leading anti-BASE crusader. Under the new rules, I would not have made that edit.
